The Round Table on State of Conservation of the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi was held during one day in Turkestan, Kazakhstan following to the decision of the World Heritage Committee 37COM 7 B.64.
The Round Table was organized by the UNESCO Almaty, the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO and the Historic and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan”.
The aim of the event was to discuss the decision of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, adopted during the 37th session of the Committee that took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in June 2013 in relation to the state of conservation of the Mausoleum, as the World Heritage Property.
This event was attended by representatives of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office, ICOMOS Kazakhstan, Historic and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan”, Kazrestoration, representatives of research organizations and experts working on the conservation and restoration of archeological and architectural monuments, Mayor and head architect of the Turkestan Akimat as well as public and community representatives.
