The Women's Movement in Central Asia: 10 Years of Experience and the Search for New Technologies

More than ninety academics and specialists on gender issues will gather in Almaty for a two-day international conference to discuss the state of gender studies in Central Asia. Topics to be addressed will include gender politics, the integration of gender research into science and education, gender and the media and future directions for gender studies in the region.

The two-day conference on gender issues organized by the F. Ebert Foundation (Germany), the Center for Gender Research (Almaty, Kazakhstan) and the Center for Gender Studies at Kazakh State University named for Al-Farabi. The UNESCO Almaty cluster bureau for Central Asia is co-financing this event.
