This handbook is a result of collaboration between the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
“Training Handbook for Silk Road Heritage Guides” was designed as a source and reference book for a training course of the Silk Road heritage guides working in the Silk Road countries. Upon successful completion, the participants will be certified as Silk Road heritage guides, helping to achieve the goals stipulated in the UNESCO/UNWTO Silk Roads Heritage Corridors Project.The handbook was published within the framework of the project "Silk Roads Heritage Corridors in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Iran - International Dimension of the European Year of Cultural Heritage," implemented with financial support from the European Union.
