Sub-regional training workshop for Associated Schools of UNESCO (ASP) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan “Education for Peace: approaches to teaching process and youth upbrining” was held in Almaty from 30 March to 1 April 2015
Coordination Council of UNESCO Associated Schools (ASP) in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan continue to organize series of training workshops on “Education for Peace”. The third training workshop on approaches to teaching process and youth upbrining.I am deeply convinced that Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education must also be considered crucial elements for well-rounded educational systems.

About sixty ASP school deputy directors and school teachers took part in the forthcoming workshop in Almaty.
Presentations and group work helped to ASP teaching staff to improve knowledge and skills for conflict prevention, and to understand the importance of pedagogical communication for teaching-learning process, to create friendly psychological environment in classes and schools.
Three lesson modules for improving schoolchildren communication skills, preventing violence at schools and decreasing stigmatization and discrimination of people with HIV were presented as well. The modules have been developed by local experts from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan within implementation of UNESCO strategy on teaching staff capacity building in Central Asia.
The workshop contributes to UNESCO strategy (2014-2021) on Education for Sustainable Development.
