Projects from Central Asia were considered at the 66th IPDC meeting

The review of project proposals to the International Programme for the Development of Communications (IPDC) takes place on 15-16 June 2022 in Paris.

The meeting takes place in a hybrid format.

UNESCO Almaty submitted three national projects from Central Asia for approval by the IPDC Bureau:
  • Kazakhstan: Assessment of the Safety of Journalists’ 2022
  • Kyrgyzstan: Assessment of Internet Universality 2022
  • Tajikistan: Media Development Assessment 2022

  • Decisions taken One project implemented by the UNESCO Chair of Kazakh National University on Data Journalism was marked by the IPDC secretariat as a best practice.

    Following UNESCO/IPDC courses MOOCS will be developed under the project:

    • Reporting on Violence against Women and Girls
    • Course on the Safety of Journalists
    • Conflict-Sensitive Reporting
    • Reporting on Climate Change
