Promotion of Sustainable Development Goal 4 and Global Citizenship Education

Education unit of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty in cooperation with the National In-service Teacher Training Centre “Orleu” in Almaty, Kazakhstan organized on 12 May 2016 an information working meeting for representatives of local In-service Teacher Training Institutes from almost 12 branches including Almaty, Almaty province, representatives from Astana, East-Kazakhstan, West-Kazakhstan and other provinces.

The meeting was on time and highlighted the burning issues of the education sector. Moreover, information on global priorities and education agenda 2030 will help them in their planning work.

The main purpose of the meeting was to inform educators about new global priorities and to promote Sustainable Development Goal 4, its targets and Global Citizenship Education. The meeting was a combination of face-to-face and on-line discussions.

According to representatives from Almaty the meeting was on time and highlighted the burning issues of the education sector. Moreover, information on global priorities and education agenda 2030 will help them in their planning work.

The top management of the National In-service Teacher Training Centre “Orleu” expressed their interest and support to continue collaboration with UNESCO Almaty in future.
