UNESCO Almaty announces recruitment for an online course on public speaking for tourist guides of Central Asia

The online course is part of the “Silk Roads Heritage Corridors in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Iran - International Dimension of the European Year of Cultural Heritage” project, implemented by UNESCO and financed by the European Union.

The course "Public Speaking Skills for Tourist Guides" will be led by coach Dara Bukhtoyarova from July 18 to August 12, 2022.

The aim of the course is to improve the guiding skills of Central Asian tour guides. Participants will learn how to make their field trips more fun and exciting through acting, storytelling, and TED speaker techniques.

Course program:

· 2-hour classes on Zoom platform once a week (for 4 weeks, 4 online sessions in total);

· Homework after each class;

WhatsApp group to discuss material and homework

Based on the results of the course, each participant records a 5-minute video that can be used for the UNESCO website and the participants' personal social media pages.
The training will be held in Russian.

Requirements for participants:

- Minimum age 18 years old

- Minimum 2 years tour guide experience

- Country of residence: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan
