The Centre was established in September 2000. It is dedicated to developing and improving technical and vocational education and training in UNESCO's Member States. Its focus is on information exchange, networking and international cooperation.
Through the Centre, UNESCO seeks to provide a platform for inter-agency cooperation within the system of the United Nations and beyond. The International Labour Organization (ILO) in particular is a natural partner of UNESCO in the field of vocational education and training.see also
